We are officially one week away from Memorial Day Weekend, and if you don’t already have your vacation planned, you’re going to want to check out the places on this list. A weekend of hot dogs and popsicle sticks by the pool can turn into an entire adventure with some extra cash and a little research.
Spend some quality time with your family and friends, reflect on the sacrifices made by hundreds of men and women that fought in our armed forces, and honor them by enjoying the long weekend as much as possible. Check out these destinations, pack your sunscreen, and hit the road, Jack.
Miami is more than what you see on TV. Sure, there’s good food, good music, and beautiful people on every corner, but traveling a few miles north of South Beach will bring you beaches just as beautiful as the ones you see on screen with fewer tourists.
Visit the artsy neighborhood of Wynwood, take a trip to the Evergladesfor an airboat ride (and come face-to-face with the wildlife), or visit the newly opened Frost Museum of Science. You’ll never be bored, promise.

Not only does Key West offer a more casual, beach-town feel than Miami, but it’s also full of rich history. Visit the Dry Tortugas National Park, The Ernest Hemingway House, or the Southernmost Point of the United States all in one day. Key West is quaint, but make no mistake-- it’s far from boring.

You can zip line, skydive, play golf, fly fish… pretty much anything your heart desires, all surrounded by beautiful sand and beaches. If you want to relax, but also want to have plenty of options for adventure and activities, this is the place for you.

"And with the early dawn moving right along, I couldn't buy an eyeful of sleep and in the aching night under satellites, I was not received. Built with stolen parts, a telephone in my heart. Someone get me a priest to put my mind to bed, this ringing in my head. Cape Cod is the place to go if you want to chill and unwind from your hectic work week. The vast beaches are so peaceful, the sunsets are breathtaking, and the picturesque lighthouses and museums will keep you entertained all weekend long.
Ah, Cancun. If it were March or April, you’d be warned to stay as far away from this Spring Break hot spot as possible. Now that it’s May, you’ll still find tons of people and nightlife (it is summertime, after all), but it’s much less rowdy.
Not only do you have your pick of stunning white sand beaches to chose from, but you can also swim with dolphins or take a day trip to the ruins of Chichen Itza and theMayan ruins of Tulum. Culture and relaxation, what more could you want?
