Awards Season is officially here! In anticipation of the Golden Globes, we’re taking a look at some of the most interesting facts about the show.

1. It takes 30,000 sq. ft. of red carpet to line the driveway and entry of The Beverly Hilton for the celebrity and VIP arrivals show.

2. For this one special night each year, The Beverly Hilton becomes a city of nearly 6,000 people.

3. Nearly 1,300 guests will dine and participate in the live telecast of the annual award show with 112 tables.

4. Nearly 3,000 additional guests will attend viewing and after parties throughout the hotel.

5. More than 140 media outlets will capture and report the red carpet arrivals and winners to audiences around the globe.

6. It will take 11 chefs, 120 culinary staff, 50 bartenders, 160 stewards and 250 servers working nonstop to deliver drinks, hors d’oeuvres, dinners and desserts to attendees at the show as well as the viewing and after-parties.

7. Meals catering to more than 1,200 members of the media will be served the day of the show.

8. More than 10,000 silverware and plate settings will be used for the award show, viewing and after-parties.

9. Celebrity florist Mark Held is flying in more than 15,000 blooms from Holland and South America in time for the Golden Globes.

10. Awards are handed out across 25 categories (14 film, 11 television)

This year will be the 76th ceremony and will be the will air Live coast to coast on NBC Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. PT/8-11 p.m. ET from The Beverly Hilton.
