The countdown to the much-anticipated Krypton has begun! Well, somehow.
Vimeo user DC World recently dropped the first trailer for the upcoming Superman prequel, a TV series developed by David S. Goyer and Damian Kindler for Syfy.
Goyer is the screenwriter for films such as the Blade trilogy and The Dark Knight trilogy. Kindler is a co-ex producer of the Sleepy Hollow series of FOX. Basically, you know that ish is going to be GOOD!
The show is set in Superman's home planet about 200 years before the time period of the Man of Steel film. The series' synopsis is as followed:
Syfy's Krypton, the much-anticipated Superman prequel set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, will follow Superman’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.
“’Krypton' is one of the most iconic stories in the comic book universe,” said Bill McGoldrick, executive vice president, scripted content, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, according to Variety. “In the talented hands of David S. Goyer and the DC Entertainment/Warner Horizon Television team, this exciting Syfy project will take viewers back to Superman’s home to show how the timeless legend began.”
The cast includes Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Ian McElhinney, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, and Aaron Pierre.
Although no date has yet been set in stone, Krypton is set to debut in 2017. I'm stoked, you're stoked, we're all stoked! Check out the trailer below.
