Back in the day (ahem, the '90s), kids didn't have Google Maps. Kids had Carmen Sandiego.
Thanks to the show Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, which ran from 1991 to 1995 on PBS, children knew everything they needed to know about geography.
Sandiego is a fictional character that went from detective to criminal and is considered the World's Greatest Thief. The plot twist might seem a bit dark, but believe me, this show was educational AF.
It schooled '90s kids about geography, history, mathematics, and English literature through comedy, interactive games, and musical performances. It was all the rage. Kids were OBSESSED.
Now, it seems as if Netflix is planning to reboot the animated show with Gina Rodriguez as "The Lady in Red" and we're LIVING FOR IT.
"Netflix has ordered 20 episodes of the series, which aims to be as educational as it is entertaining, given the title character’s globetrotting adventures," reports TrackingBoard, which broke the news first.
But Rodriguez confirmed the news via Twitter.
And fans? Fans are FREAKING OUT!
