As of now, I can tell you that 2018 is coming with lots of promising things, including a bougie Disney Princess shoe collection you never knew you needed.
New York-based footwear designer Ruthie Davis has teamed up with Disney to drop a shoe collection inspired by some of our fave princesses. She kicks off her project with the Snow White Collection. Fully inspired by the 1938 film, Davis—whose shoes have been worn by IRL royalty such as Demi Lovato, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga—presents a magical line of leather booties, heels, and platforms all custom made in Italy.
Ugh, more Disney shoes?! No girl! Wait until you see them for yourself.
"The Disney people saw my designs and asked if they could work with me directly and the rest is history," Davis told The Hollywood Reporter. "The idea being that I will cycle through the 11 Disney princesses as important princess milestones come up, from a film to a birthday or anniversary."
Ranging from $500 to $800, the Snow White Collection will drop Jan. 15 at Fred Segal in Los Angeles but can already be pre-ordered online.
Davis' forthcoming shoe collection, which is already in the works, will be inspired by the 1998 film, Mulan.
"The inspiration is much more integrated. I don’t want people to say, ‘That’s a Mulan shoe’ but to wonder what the inspiration is. There are dragons and Asian details that are not so literal, and there will definitely be a jogger and a wedge sneaker in the line. I’m going to make each collection unique to that princess and it’s not going to follow any formula," she states.
