Anal sex is reserved for people with more adventurous perspectives in the bedroom. That doesn't mean that others aren't curious about it. Back door sex isn't as taboo as you may think, but it surely isn't for everyone.
The only way you'll know if you like it is to give it a try. Here are five things that you should think about before you take the plunge.
1. Your man will still respect you in the morning.
Many women think that their man will have a different opinion of them after anal sex, but that's not completely true. Communicating what you want to try out in the bedroom is crucial to a successful relationship. If you're going to judge each other after, how much can you trust each other with your sexual interests moving forward.
2. Make sure you're clean on the inside.
The last thing you want is to turn your bed sheets into a toilet, or to coat your partner's private parts with chocolate fondue, so make sure your cavity is clear. It will be appreciated, unless your partner has a certain fetish.
3. Your back door hole will bounce back.
Contrary to popular belief backdoor sex won't ruin your anus permanently. The sphincter is the muscle at the end of your anus that keeps it all in. This muscle can weaken, but some good old kegels will help keep it tight.
4. Don’t go from the back door to the front door.
It’s a good idea to avoid going from back to front, just like when you wipe. Doing so could potentially transfer bacteria to the vagina.
5. There's a greater risk of STIs.
Having any sort of unprotected sex puts you at risk for contracting sexually transmitted infections, but anal sex increases the risk of contracting HIV 18 times more than vaginal intercourse, according to findings published in the International Journal of Epidemiology.
