Twenty-Seventeen has been an amazing year for Selena Quintanilla, her family, and her beloved fans—beginning with her very own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Needless to say, 2018 is already looking Bidi Bidi Bom Bom great with the upcoming release of a children's book about the Queen of Tejano.
It's pretty obvious that although 22 years have gone by, Selena's legacy just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Millennials born in the '80s and '90s know far too well that Selena was simply one-of-a-kind.
Now, future gens will know it too thanks to The Life Of / La Vida De: Selena, a bilingual picture biography book by Patty Rodriguez and Ariana Stein.
Kids (and kids at heart) will read all about Selena's career, her band Los Dinos, and her award-winning music. "Your little one will learn that Selena s favorite food was pizza and that the most important people in the world to her were her familia and fans," notes the book's description. Publisher Lil Libros expressed the following heartfelt message on IG:
This is our way of saying thank you, Selena. Thank you for your music, energy, and love. The love you had for us - your community. But most importantly thank you for allowing us to dream just like you did. This is how we can thank you. By never forgetting you; by sharing your smile, music, and life with our children. By reminding them that you were us. That you loved and sang in two languages. That wherever you went you were proud of who you were and where you came from. By keeping you part of our family just like our parents did when you were here. This is for you. Thank you.
The book is expected to launch on March 6, 2018, but you can already pre-order it on Amazon for $9.99.
