Thanksgiving is the perfect day for families to gather around the table for a delicious meal and give thanks for everything in life. On the other hand, it's also a day when some people who are relatively new to finding their way around the kitchen are trying to concoct dishes that should only be reserved for cooks with the proper amount of kitchen experience.
It's difficult to be as thankful as you know you should be when the turkey looks like it was barbecued far too long, instead of baked or fried. Sometimes these new cooks actually do a good job with the actual cooking process, but still, manage to mess things up by getting too experimental with seasonings. If you're new to preparing Thanksgiving dinner, just stick to the basics so you don't end up with a turkey like these people below.
This turkey is definitely done.
Really though.... a cake turkey.
Turkey cake? Yep, at Publix. Can you believe Thanksgiving is 2 weeks from today? pic.twitter.com/FgXZiu3DQg— Tim Aten (@TimAtenKnows) November 9, 2017
Deep-fry turkeys far enough away from your home.
Undercooking a turkey is just as bad as burning one.
Another reminder not to kill yourself frying a turkey.
