After teaming up with Disney and dropping a magical backpack and purse collection, fashion brand Danielle Nicole revealed a Rugrats handbag line for all those millennials who grew up watching the cartoon.
The show aired for the first time in 1991 and ended after nine seasons in 2002. Now, 15 years later, the bag designer is bringing our favorite squad—including Tommy Pickles and Angelica—to our closet.
“Nostalgia and whimsical trends of the Nineties play big with our customer base, so we knew a collection based on characters that hit the screen in the early Nineties would resonate with them,” said Danielle DiFerdinando, founder and creative director of Danielle Nicole to WWD. “Bold and bright hues were Nineties staples.”
The limited 10-piece collection will include handbags, backpacks, pouches, and key chains, featuring geometric prints, embroidery, and metallics.

WWD notes that the complete collection will launch July 14 at Box Lunch, a division of Hot Topic. "For every $10 spent at a Box Lunch store, a meal is provided to Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks," the site states. On Aug. 14 the '90s-inspired line will be available on Danielle-Nicole. com and sold on Bloomingdales. com as of October.
“Style the bags with Nineties fashion trends — cropped tops, high-waisted jeans, high-top sneakers and track pants," DiFerdinando added.
