Frida Kahlo is one of the most influential artists in recent pop culture, she's especially an icon in the Latino culture. The Mexican painter, who mostly painted self-portraits, is known for her vibrant yet deep works of art.
That's the Frida we all know—the one with the unibrow, the one with the colorful shawl's, and the one in love with Diego Rivera. But wait until you meet baby/young Frida.
Born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderon in Coyoacan, Mexico, Frida discovered her love for the arts from an early age thanks to her dad's friend. According to a book titled Frida Kahlo: The Brush of Anguish, the late artist filled many notebooks with sketches.
Much of her life experiences were demonstrated in her portraits. At a young age, Frida contracted polio, which made her right leg shorter and thinner than the left. This explains why in most of her paintings she's laying in a bed.
Despite all of this, Frida was able to live her passion and nowadays is a recognizable figure in art history. Long live Frida Kahlo, but first, check out her adorable baby pics.
