Pokemon Go has almost everyone with a mobile device scouring their surroundings in search of Pokemon. The resurgence of these mythical creatures that took over the late 90’s has everyone speculating if the success of Pokemon Go will prompt other mobile game developers to create similar game geocapture type games. I have very limited knowledge of how the technical side works, but I have five ideas that would make bomb augmented reality games.
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario was created by Nintendo and has all the elements in place for a good mobile geolocation spinoff. Players could move through their environment collecting coins and searching for Princess Daisy.
The Marvel Universe
The Marvel Universe is a huge world that has a wealth of characters that players could search for and collect. How mind blowing would it be to find your favorite super heroes battling your favorite super villains in spots all around your neighborhood.
Game of Thrones
A Game of Thrones mobile game should involve hunting for rare dragon eggs and crowns that are spread throughout various locations in the world.
Call of Duty
A mobile geolocation app for Call of Duty could work perfect as a companion app for the extremely popular video games. It would give players an alternate means of collecting XP and special items while encouraging them to be active.
“Who you gonna call?” No one, because you could have the power to catch ghosts in the palm of your hand. Ghostbusters would easily translate into an augmented reality phenomenon as players ghost hunt and collect them.
