Hallmark did a Valentine’s campaign titled #PutYourHeartToPaper in which the company sits down couples and talks to them about how they really feel. Last year, Hallmark used couple Eugenia and Corinna, a same-sex couple, and asked them to talk about how they first met and about the strengths of their relationship.
This year, Hallmark sat with Kim and Bob, a couple who has been married for 56 years, and asked them to tell how they feel about the other person without using the word love.
“Without using the word love?” Bob asked. The video cuts when he begins with “well…” and then Hallmark plays the videos of what each person has said about the other to the couple, who they have sat down next to each other.
Bob says, “They say that two become one. We’ve really done that, and that just says it all.”
Kim had said, “He’s part of me. I can’t imagine myself without him.” She continued, “I can tell that he loves me because I can see it in his eyes , and I can tell in the way we talk to each other and the way we relate to each other .”
The man who is interviewing her stops and asks “What do you see in his eyes when you look at each other?”
To which she responds, “I see me in his eyes.”
To see the full beautiful exchange of words, watch the video below. Think about how you can tell the one you love this Valentine’s day how you really feel without using the word love.
