Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to make sweet things and devour them with a friend, your lover, family, or just all by yourself. In honor of the year’s sweetest holiday, here are 4 creamy and delicious warm drink recipes to enjoy. All you need to warm your heart is enough chocolate and caramel.
French Hot Chocolate
If you can’t make it to France to celebrate this year, just bring all that Parisian goodness to your own home. In order to make this decadent dark hot chocolate recipe, you’ll need whole milk, heavy cream, powdered sugar, espresso powder, bittersweet chocolate, and whip cream.
All you have to do is whisk the whole milk, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and espresso powder together over medium heat in a saucepan. DO NOT boil this mixture. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until it melts. Serve it warm in a mug with lots of whipped cream on top.
Caramel Hot Chocolate
This sweet and delicious warm drink calls for milk, bittersweet chocolate chips, caramel sauce, sweetened whipped cream or vanilla marshmallows, and grated chocolate.
To make it, heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat, and once milk is warm, stir in chocolate chips and caramel until the chocolate has melted. Serve warm topped with garnishes (whipped cream, caramel, chocolate).
Tres Leches Warm Drink
This creamy and tasty drink only uses 6 ingredients—sweetened condensed milk, half and half, milk, 1 vanilla bean, whipped cream, and maraschino cherries to garnish it with.
Combine the sweetened condensed milk, half and half, and milk of choice into a medium size saucepan and cut the vanilla bean in half in order to scrape the inside. Place the entire bean (inside and outside) into the mixture.
Heat over medium heat until just simmering and then remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Be sure to remove the vanilla bean prior to pouring into glasses, and then garnish them with whipped cream and cherries.
Raspberry White Chocolate
Raspberry white chocolates are some of my favorite sweets, and if you want to be able to drink the sweet flavors, you can make this delicious hot chocolate recipe (that is actually pink!).
All you need is milk, white chocolate chips or shaved white chocolate, raspberry extract, red food coloring, whipped cream and sprinkles to garnish. In a small saucepan stir together the milk, white chocolate, and raspberry extract.
Over medium-low heat, stir the mixture until all chocolate is melted. Remove from heat and pour into your favorite mug and top with whipped cream and sprinkles.
