Not a week has gone by and 2017 is already looking fly AF, or better yet, sounding fly AF.
A new project is out on the mission to bring together the best of Cuban and Jamaican music in one production.
Titled, Havana Meets Kingston, renowned reggae and dancehall Australian producer Mista Savona, has brought together over 100 of the Caribbean's most influential artists to create a world album first of its kind.
"This is a truly groundbreaking record and project that honors both islands' incredible musical foundations and legacies while inspiring and creating something entirely new," notes the official statement on Facebook.
Havana Meets Kingston, which will be released as an album and documentary in the Spring, fuses roots reggae, dub, dancehall, salsa, son, rumba, and Afro-Cuban. The first single off of this production, called Carnival featuring Randy Valentine & SOLIS, will drop January 23rd.
The album is expected to launch April 2017. Check out the first teaser below:
