Coachella can now be added to the list of businesses that are lead by individuals who donate money to anti-LGBTQ groups.
According to research conducted by Freedom of All Americans (FFAA), a “bipartisan campaign seeking nondiscrimination protections for LGBT people nationwide,” created after the Supreme Court Decision that legalized same-sex marriage, Anschutz Family Foundation allegedly donated almost $200,000 to anti-LGTQ groups between 2012 and 2013.
The foundation's owner is Philip Anschutz, founder of Anschutz Entertainment Group, which funds Coachella.
The festival's website states that Coachella "is committed to efforts that contribute to the betterment of the Coachella Valley. We have several initiatives to help achieve that goal."
After the news broke, many people are furious and posting their two cents on the Internet.
