Pitbull is back on the big screen with an animated musical about self-acceptance and showing his young fans his new special role as "UglyDog" in the new film "UglyDolls."

"The message, to me, is the most important part of it and why I signed up for this project,” Pitbull said to ABC Radio. “And for the kids, for them when they watch this, I hope that they capture that message.”

He added, “We also flipped the word ugly and we let them know that ugly really stand for ‘U Gotta Love Yourself.’”

"The more people out there understand that, especially the kids -- when you love yourself, believe in yourself, other people believe in you and then you can love others," Pitbull continues. "You help yourself, you can help others. You have to start with you first. Not from a selfish standpoint, but from a believing standpoint."

What's "UglyDolls" About?

In the adorably different town of Uglyville, weird is celebrated, strange is special and beauty is embraced as more than simply meets the eye. Here, the free-spirited Moxy (Kelly Clarkson) and her UglyDoll friends live every day in a whirlwind of bliss, letting their freak flags fly in a celebration of life and its endless possibilities.

In this all-new story, the UglyDolls will go on a journey beyond the comfortable borders of Uglyville. There, they will confront what it means to be different, struggle with their desire to be loved, and ultimately discover that you don't have to be perfect to be amazing because who you truly are is what matters most.

Kelly Clarkson, Janelle Monáe, Nick Jonas and Pitbull are among the artists lending their talents to the new film based on the popular "PrettyUgly" plush toy line.
