Taylor Schilling is ready to show the world her first horror-thriller movie with "The Prodigy." The actress sat down with VIX to shared all the details of her new project and how she's ready to take on new challenges now that "Orange Is The New Black" is ending.
This is her first role since OITNB concluded filming in 2018, with the seventh season being its final. Now, Taylor stars as Sarah, a mom who battles an extraordinarily dark force to save her kid, taking the audience on a wild ride; one where the line between perception and reality remains blurry.
"The character of Sarah in "The Prodigy'"was something that I never played on camera before and her journey and how she was willing to go to a place that was shocking to me," revealing that she was surprised and amazed by the script and the capabilities of her character.
Even though, Schilling is leaving "Piper Chapman" behind she's aware of how special and revolutionizing it was to be a part of the series.
"The list is kind of endless," Schilling said about all of the positive aspects the Netflix show provided for her on a professional and personal level.
"I had extraordinaire friendships and a family of women that I will take with me for the rest of my life and it also taught me a lot about my craft, since I had to play a character for many years" adding that Piper forced her to explore different ways of working as a versatile actress.
"It has been a gift, I just feel so grateful to be a part of a show that it was groundbreaking, it really change the game, and it was really kind of the first show to have so many women on screen," Schilling concluded by sharing that the "solidarity and comradery" she experienced has been nourishing and significant to her.
