Mike Bezos is the father of the richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos. However in 1962, Bezos came to America as a Cuban refugee wearing a jacket his mother had hand-stitched from cleaning rags.

In a touching post on social media, the founder and president of Amazon, shared a video tribute chronicling his father’s journey from Cuba to the U.S.

“When he came here from Cuba at 16, not only was he all alone, but he only spoke Spanish. His grit, determination, and optimism are inspiring,” Bezos tweeted about his father

Mike Bezos raised Jeff Bezos, but he isn't his biological father. The entrepreneur is the biological son of Jacklyn and Ted Jorgensen, but the pair split soon after he was born. Jacklyn then remarried with Miguel, who goes by Mike, in 1968.

Within months of the wedding, Mike legally adopted Bezos, who was then age four, and raised him as if he was his own son.

"My dad's story really shows that people help each other," Jeff said.
