If you're one who loves Trader Joe's and Aldi for affordable diet-friendly food, then you're going to LOVE this new health food store that's online only and mucho cheap.
Meet Brandless, a new line of healthy foods in minimal packaging that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also tantalizing for your taste buds. All of Brandless' items are $3 or less, which means, yeah, you can finally afford to get on that healthy diet without blowing your whole paycheck at Fresh Market or Whole Foods.
You know the drill: You're Pinterest-ing model diets and snacking tips, and it's always things like bags of sea salt quinoa chips and organic peanut butter with apples. Brandless boasts both products, as well as other goodies like vanilla cocoa granola, organic applesauce pouches, and organic arrabbiata pasta sauce (yum!).
It gets even better, too. The online haven also sells EPA-certified cleaner for your home (in a light summer breeze scent), Balsamic Greens and Grapefruit dish soap, and also beauty steals like lip balm and body lotion.
BUT THEN IT GETS BETTER. Imagine that a health food dollar store merged with an IKEA, and you have the "Home and Office" section of the site. Here you'll find minimal home decor, like white plates and porcelain mugs à la Scandinavian design. They're three bucks and perfect for your apartment.
The eco and health-friendly site has managed to cut costs on good-for-you products in order to help everyone live better, but how?
When you buy your favorite name-brand products, you're paying a load of markups that the guys behind Brandless feel you shouldn't be. According to Brandless' blog,
BrandTax™ is the hidden costs you pay for a national brand. We've been trained to believe these costs increase quality, but they rarely do. We estimate the average person pays at least 40% more for products of comparable quality as ours. And sometimes up to 370% more for beauty products like face cream. We're here to eliminate BrandTax™ once and for all.
So when you're buying Brandless products, you're paying for the product and not all those markups.
People are super excited about this new online store, and some of the products (like fruit spread and organic pasta) have already sold out. But I mean, these are some pretty serious steals.
So grab your credit card and fill up your (virtual) cart. It's time to live better, without breaking the bank.
