7 Health Benefits of Drinking Frozen Rosé All Summer Long

If you've heard the good news, Frosé (AKA Frozen Rosé) is the hottest drink of the summer, according to Real Simple. You'll want to make this boozy slush all summer long because DAMN, it tastes great.

It's the perfect poolside companion and is full of sweet, bold flavors (and alcohol, woo!). For those of you who aren't a big fan of dry wines, you'll love this one. Let's just say it tastes like juice compared to some of the other, more vinegary-tasting wines out there. It's not white, and not red, but its own special breed.

You can make some up yourself or skip the frozen part and pour it straight from this delicious bottle for only $8 (and it was voted one of the word's best!). Pour it into some wine glasses for you and your friends, and jump onto your flamingo float, Bambi pose and all.

Here are seven reasons to celebrate Frosé as you sip on it all summer.

#1 It's better for your waistline

True story. A 5 oz glass of rosé can be about 99 calories, while a 5 oz glass of white is 120 and a 5 oz glass of red is nearly 125.

#2 It can boost your immunity

A study published in the journal BMC Public Health found that people who drink alcohol frequently are less likely to report symptoms of the common cold. According to the study, "The frequency, not the amount, of alcohol intake was significantly related to lower prevalence of self-reported common cold episodes in Japanese men."

#3 It can help reduce stress

You know how it feels to come home to a nice glass of wine after a long day's work. Reservatrol in wine helps your body deal with stress. According to SHAPE, the Reservatrol triggers "PARP-1, which then activates a number of genes that repair DNA, suppress tumor genes and promote longevity genes."

#4 It cuts stroke risk

There's no better reason to enjoy frozen wine when you know it helps cut the risk of heart disease and stroke. According to Food and Wine, "The possibility of suffering a blood clot–related stroke drops by about 50 percent in people who consume moderate amounts of alcohol." Come back from a hard day at work and Netflix and chill yourself, or save it for the weekend when you're sitting poolside.

#5 If you work out, you can enjoy more of it

That's right! If you're a total gym rat, that glass of Frosé (okay, maybe two or three glasses, whatever!), won't affect your body as much as it will for couch potatoes.

A study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that while drinking is certainly linked to higher risks of death and cancer, high levels of exercise really decrease those risks. When researchers factored in the recommended weekly exercise for the participants, which is 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity, researchers found that “Exercising the recommended amount ‘appeared to wipe off completely’ the inflated risk of cancer death resulting from alcohol.”

#6 It can help with acne

Want glowing skin? A study published in the journal Dermatology and Therapy found that "[Resveratrol in wine] has been demonstrated to inhibit inflammatory markers activation protein-1 (AP-1) and nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-jB), both of which have been implicated in the formation of inflammatory acne lesions." The antioxidants in your Frosé can help clear your skin, along with helping you relax, which can also affect your skin.

#7 It can boost your mood

A study published in the journal BMC Medicine found that "those who drank moderate amounts of alcohol (5 to 15 g a day) were less likely to suffer from depression," according to Medical News Daily. Which means your glass of Frosé will keep you smiling all summer long.
