Taco Bell is killing it in the fast-food game, TBH! They have a daily happy hour offering $1 specials from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., they have a crazy dollar menu with over 10 delicious items, and they have those $5 boxes that bring more food than what you bargained for.
With so many yummy options, it'd be a no-brainer that their most popular item on the menu is taco or burrito-related, but nope, guess again! The Mex-Tex-inspired chain has revealed that their most popular item amongst customers nationwide is their latest, Nacho Fries.
They're so popular that over 53 million fries were sold in the 7,000 Taco Bell U.S. restaurants in its first five weeks, according to Nation's Restaurant News.
They have also taken the crown from what ~used to be~ the most popular items on the menu: Doritos Loco Taco and the Crunchwrap Supreme. "We're seeing fries in one out of every three orders, compared to one out of every four for DLT,” Taco Bell spokesman Matt Prince told NRN.
The Nacho fries, which are sold for $1 with a cheese dip or can be upgraded to supreme with all the works, dropped in late January for a "limited time." With that said, Taco Bell is planning for the fries to stay on the menu until late Spring for obvi reasons.
