Ana Ortiz is returning to television to star in a new spinoff series of the film "Love, Simon"

“I’m SO excited to report that a Love, Simon spinoff is coming to the new Disney+ streaming service!!,,” she shared on Instagram earlier this spring. "This series is NOT an adaptation of (“Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda” sequel) “Leah on the Offbeat”, nor is it a remake of Love, Simon. It is a spinoff set in the world of Simon.”

Ana is set to play Victor’s mother, Isabel. Jennifer Garner played the mom character in the movie "Love, Simon," which was a coming-of-age film about a closeted gay teen.

While the series version, which has been greenlighted, will carry the same title as the movie, it will follow a different young character, Deadline reported.

The Puerto Rican is mostly known for her characters on the shows Ugly Betty and Devious Maids.
