Rest in peace, Edith Gonzalez, our thoughts are with her family, friends, and loved ones during this time.

The popular Mexican actress passed away on Thursday morning at the "Ángeles Interlomas Hospital" in Mexico City; three years after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Mexican journalist Mara Patricia Castañeda revealed the news in a phone interview on Televisa's HOY. Gonzalez' passing was further confirmed in a tweet from the National Association of Actors.

1. Edith was born in 1964 Monterrey, Mexico. She began her acting career as a child actor in the 1970s.

2. Gonzalez’s father, Efrain, was an accountant, her mother was a stay-at-home mom.

3. She was most recently seen by fans as Eva Soler in Eva La Trailera in 2016.

4. González announced her diagnosis in 2016 with an Instagram post of her lying in a hospital bed.

The Latin actress said she was dealing with stage four ovarian cancer and underwent surgery to have her ovaries, uterus and lymph nodes removed. Throughout her cancer treatments, she remained optimistic, telling her fans she was determined to live her life.

5. She is survived by her husband Lorenzo and daughter Constanza.
