Demi Lovato is in love with tattoos.
Over the years, the artist has used her skin as a canvas, telling stories with pictures and phrases to honor remarkable moments and people in her life and this time the singer had her great-grandmother’s face inked on her left arm.
"This is for you Mimaw," Lovato wrote on Instagram showing off her tattoo. "You at 26 on my arm while I’m 26, and forever. I love you more."
Mimaw passed away in 2016 at the age of 93, Demi has attributed her own strength to her.
“There is an emptiness in my heart that only her spirit can fill and I pray that I will feel her by my side every single day until we meet again,” she wrote in a touching Instagram post at the time.
“I hate that I can't hear your voice but I love that you are no longer in pain,” the singer-songwriter’s heartfelt caption read. “I love you so much and I miss you more than anyone could ever imagine. I'll miss your smile, your wittiness, painting your nails and your kisses. I really do love you more.”
Lovato also posted some videos of herself sitting in the chair and getting inked by the popular Doctor Woo.
The artist has been returning to Instagram over the past few months, following rehabilitation treatment after she was hospitalized for an apparent overdose last year.
