“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor,” their royal Instagram account announced. “This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle. The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.”

A royal source said the couple chose the names because: "they just liked them! And Harrison means son of Harry." The new parents introduced their baby boy to the world in St. George’s Hall, where they had their wedding reception last May.

Rather than the royal tradition of posing outside the hospital after their son was born, Meghan and Harry chose to celebrate privately in their home at Windsor Castle.

“It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy,” Meghan said.

“He has the sweetest temperament,” she added. "He’s really calm.”

Harry then said: “I don’t know where he gets that from!”
