Nymphomaniac 1 and 2
The Danish drama from 2013 was written and directed by Lars von Trier. The production stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stacy Martin, Stellan Skarsgård, Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Jamie Bell, Uma Thurman, Willem Dafoe and Connie Nielsen. Originally, the movie was supposed to be one full piece. But because of how long it turned out, Trier made the decision to split the project in two separate films. 'Nymphomaniac' is the third movie of the “depression trilogy”, according to Lars von Trier, following his two other movies, 'Antichrist', from 2009, and 'Melancholia', from 2011.
Newly-wed Joseph (Craig Sheffer) loves his wife Maria (Sheryl Lee), but he is shocked when she confesses during a couples therapy session that she always fakes her orgasms. He is even more upset when he accidentally finds out that she goes to a clinic run by a doctor, Baltazar Vicenza (Terence Stamp), who has sex with his patients as part of the therapy. He searches for the therapists’ office and threatens him, telling him to stay away from Maria. But he soon changes his mind and asks Baltazar to guide him so he can help Maria. What no one knows is that she is hiding a traumatizing secret.
'Unfaithful' is an erotic thriller from 2002 directed by Adrian Lyne and starring Richard Gere, Diane Lane and Olivier Martinez. Adapted by Alvin Sargent and William Broyles Jr., the film is a remake of “La Femme Infidèle” (The Unfaithful Wife), from 1968, directed by Claude Chabrol. The story follows a couple who lives in the New York suburbs and whose marriage is shaken after the woman throws herself into an adulterous adventure with a stranger she meets in Manhattan.
Confessions of a Brazilian Call Girl
Raquel was a middle class young girl. One day, she made a unexpected decision: she left her house and decided to become a call girl using the alias Bruna Little Surfer Girl. The 2011 Brazilian movie, directed by Marcus Baldini and starred by Deborah Secco, Cássio Gabus Mendes and Drica Moraes, is an adaptation from the best-selling book “The Scorpion's Sweet Venom: The Diary of a Brazilian Call Girl”, by Raquel Pacheco.
The Boy Next Door
After being cheated on by her husband, professor Claire Peterson (Jennifer Lopez) is about to get a divorce. She lives by herself with her teenage son, until she notices a young man who just moved next door. The seductive Noah Sandborn (Ryan Guzman) quickly offers to help with daily chores and becomes Claire’s son’s best friend. Over time, the neighbor starts to seduce her, which leads to a passionate night between them. The next day, the professor decides it was just a mistake, but Noah doesn't plan on leaving her so soon. The love affair turns into a dangerous obsession.
