Pedro Pascal, who plays DEA officer Javier Peña on Narcos, was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss the new season. He was tough to crack, but he did tell Jimmy that season 3 will revolve around the Cali Cartel.
“People know a lot less about Cali Cartel, including myself,” he said. “They were richer than Pablo [Escobar], there were four of them, they took over Miami after Pablo was killed, and they already owned New York, so there’s a lot.”
About shooting on location in Colombia, he said it’s a beautiful country, and that it’s “beautifully represented” on the show. Colombians, especially, react well to the show’s filming because they’re so used to the topic.
“Because it’s mostly on location,” he said, “some beautiful 60-something-year-old woman is walking by and she’s so curious because she sees the cameras.”
“I’m like, ‘It’s called Narcos,’ and she’s like ‘Eh, we’re over it.’”
