You’re not a '90s kid if you don’t remember playing Snake on Nokia’s famous “brick” phone, and soon enough, you’ll probably get the chance again.
According to Venture Beat, Nokia may be coming out with a modern version of the Nokia 3310, AKA, the most indestructible piece of technology to come of the 21st century, originally released in 2000.
HMD Global Oy, the company that owns the rights to market the now-dead Nokia brand, has rumored plans to make the official announcement later in February.
This isn’t the first time a 3310 revival is speculated to be in the works. According to Slash Gear, CurvedLabs’ Martin Hajek created a set of images a few years ago that may have been the inspo for the new concept.
Whether the “new” 3310 will be a replica of the old is unclear. It may be a whole new concept like the ones above or something totally unexpected.
Either way, we’re excited to see what HMD reveals on Feb. 26th. Hopefully we can toss it against the wall without fear of cracking the screen. Good times.
