Unicorns are everywhere. Not like, actual unicorns, but that hasn’t stopped people from coming up with unicorn-themed everything, from drinks to hair to makeup. The newest addition to the unicorn frenzy are unicorn nails, aptly named so because of the holographic sparkly effect the tips have when light hits them.

Any variation of a general ocean theme will do for this trend. Be it actual painted waves, blue ombre, or a sandy starfish theme, ocean nails give you tons to play around with. For a more subtle look, play with a sandy nude and ocean accents.

Not to be confused with ocean nails, mermaid nails are similar, just way flashier. Scales, glitter, jewels and any variation of aqua, purple, or coral colors are mermaid nail staple(s). Not for the faint of heart, mermaid nails are gorgeous but definitely a commitment. Seriously, imagine how heavy they are.
Rose Quartz Nails
Probably the most subdued summer nail trend, rose quartz nails are a mauve-pink base with a white “crack” illusion, made to look like actual rose quartz stones. It’s also probably the only nail trend you can pull off with your actual nails if acrylics aren’t your thing.
Negative space nails are exactly what they sound like: minimalist jewels or designs on a clear top coat. Planets, rainbows, flowers-- anything goes with this trend. You can make entire designs all over your nails, or just stick to colored tips or half moons. You can’t go wrong.
