Riri Williams was the star of Marvel’s Invincible Iron Man comic book after Tony Stark fell off the face of the Earth at the end Civil War II. Even though Riri, who fights crime under the name Iron Heart, seems to be one of the most interesting characters that Marvel has introduced to us recently, it will likely take some time before she actually takes on a much larger role in the grand scheme of Marvel's Cinematic Universe.
Thankfully, a handful of students at MIT have brought Iron Heart to life in a short fan film. Maybe if the short film generates enough buzz, Marvel will take notice and give fans a big-budget blockbuster film that highlights a hero that just happens to be an African American female.
In reality, MIT has a real Riri Williams that built her own custom Iron Man armor suite. Just six students worked on the annual "Pi Day" film that stylizes 3.14. Iron Heart was played by a current MIT student. The film shows the adventure of building the suit from conception to flight in the MIT lab.
