If you've ever contemplated running a marathon, but thought you were too out of shape or that it was too long of a distance, there's a 70-year-old woman who wants to prove to you you can do it.
Either that, or she wants to totally kick your ass.
Meet Chau Smith, a 70-year-old woman from Missouri who decided she wanted to run seven miles on seven different continents, in just a week's time.
Smith had already ran over 70 miles in her lifetime, but decided there was just another challenge she had to take on.
Smith joined a group called Triple 7 Quest, that was determined to run seven different marathons in seven different places around the world, in only a week—and by god, they did it.
The marathons took place in Perth, Singapore, Cairo, Amsterdam, Garden City, Punta Arenas, and King George Island in Antarctica.
Smith was joined by nine other people who ran across the world to prove to themselves that they could overcome this physical challenge. Smith said it took her eight months to train, and she was running 15 to 130 miles each week in the last four months of her training.
The team overcame many different, like very hot and very cold temperatures, as well as different altitudes and terrains.
"How I feel after I put in my running, I think that's important," Smith told CNN. "It makes you feel good. I can't really put it into words."
