McDonald's why are so great? I ask this because I notice you always go above and beyond to try and improve my experience when I visit your restaurants. You either bless me with new menu items, give me delivery options, or make desired changes to the items I know and love.
Take McDonald's soft serve for instance. A few months ago, McDonald's announced they were changing their soft serve machine's so that when you have a midnight McFlurry craving, you can actually satisfy it.
Machinery aside, the Golden Arches secretly changed their vanilla ice cream recipe last year Fall and no one even noticed. This natural shift in the restaurant's desserts has been completed in over 14,000 locations nationwide.
The change was made in an effort to phase artificial flavors and high fructose corn syrup from its oh-so-popular vanilla ice cream. The soft serve has already been freed of artificial colors and preservatives, so it was only a matter of time before they went Au Naturale.
McDonald's has also announced that they're ridding their chocolate and strawberry McCafé syrup of high fructose corn syrup, and the whipped topping used to on the McCafé will be free of artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives.
"We've been raising the bar at McDonald's on serving delicious food that our customers can feel good about eating. Soft serve now joins other changes we have made, such as removing artificial preservatives from McNuggets, committing to cage-free eggs by 2025 and only serving chicken made from chicken not treated with antibiotics important to human medicine*. This, combined with the fact that 100 percent of the milk used in our soft serve is U.S. sourced, makes this classic treat even more enjoyable during the hot summer months."
This Summer, you can also expect a Rolo McFlurry comeback at McDonald's, from May 24 through September 11. Geez, McDonald's just keeps getting better and better, other fast food joints better watch out!
